Welcome

My paintings reflect a longing to connect more deeply with nature, and a belief that we need a strong spiritual connection with our environment in order to be complete human beings.

I am especially fascinated by landscapes for their rich symbolic content and the way we respond to them emotionally, spiritually, and aesthetically.
As a painter, I find that landscapes also present a great opportunity to learn about the natural qualities of light, and to explore the way light, air and distance come together to make atmosphere.
Painting in a loose impressionistic way reveals the nature of the medium and its application, and allows me to bring a more spontaneous element of expression to my work.

I consider myself fortunate to live in the Pacific Northwest with its endless supply of inspiration.
